Frederick William Jenkins Palmer was born 18 June, 1907 at Eynsham, the son of Albert Jenkins (1870 - 1923) and Elizabeth Alice Palmer.
The photo of Fred and his two shipmates has written on the back "On The Hood - 1916 - 18"* and the one of Fred and the donkey "Castellan in Spain - 2 April, 1930."
The wedding photo is inscribed "Fred and his bride, 6 January, 1934." Fred married his sister-in-law, Ellen Burrows. Ellen's brother Arthur Burrows was married to Fred's sister Vera.
Fred and Ellen had four children and was living at Weybridge when Fred went down on the Hood.
Ellen is still alive at this writing, but in failing health and unable to help with this history.
Sorry I can't be more specific on the dates. If you have any information of when Fred was on the HMS Ganges, I would love to have it.
* Fred would have only been nine years old in 1916 so I don't think the dates referring to onboard HMS Hood 1916 -18 are correct.
