Two Happy Scousers
Brian Simpson and Bill Roberts HMS Ganges Association Treasurer at their local Divisional meeting.
Is this the first sighting of a member of our committee on the website since Mike Kelly left?

The photograph above was brought to my attention my our ex Association Standard Bearer Dave Poyser.
As you can see he leads a parade of standard bearers which also includes Tony Higgins on the same day that they were both attending the HMS Ganges Reunion!
Dave agrees that although he did get around on behalf of the Association, he does not have the ability of being in two places at once!

Sutton Hoo 1939
Here at Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, we have a photograph taken in August
1939 of a group of boys from HMS Ganges who had come up to see the
Anglo-Saxon ship excavation. They are shown lined up along the side of
the excavation trench. We would be very interested to hear of anyone
who was one of those young men. I can be contacted on the number below
9am - 5.30pm, Monday - Friday. If I am not at my desk, my voicemail is
always on.
I do hope there is someone out there who is on the photo.
Many thanks,
Nancy

Regulating Petty Officer Instructors
I was an instructor at HMS Ganges as an RPO in late 73 and 74. It has become a point of great interest on our website Regulating Branch Association (93)to find out if any of your members remember another RPO being employed in the same duty.
I am sure that I cannot be the only one. Would you please pose the question on your notice board and we look forward to the ensuing comments,
Yours Aye,
Pete Swann ex Keppel buntings 1960.

"The Navy's Youngest Sailors"
I would like to post a message on the notice board. I have met and introduced a Ken Carr to the association.
He is now 82 and unable to get about too easily and is unlikely to ever get to one of our reunions. I thought I possessed a video entitled
"The Navy's Youngest Sailors" about boys in training at Ganges, I think made in the early fifties. I promised him that I would lend
him the video, unfortunately it has disappeared. I would like to post a notice asking if anyone has a copy of this video which I could borrow,
because I feel I am letting Ken down by failing in my promise. I am prepared to personally collect the video from anyone who has a copy, and
deliver it back personally after Ken has seen it.
Your help would be very much appreciated

Reunion 2004
Dear Sirs & Madams!
As part of the Shep Woolley Band; Garry Blakeley and I (Pete Fyfe) had the pleasure once again to perform for the HMS Ganges Re-Union at Pontins Pakefield last weekend.
I was wondering, if through your website we can thank all your members for the wonderful reception that we received. I don't think my banjo will ever get over the shock of all the accolades!
I'm sure that Shep will be in contact personally but on behalf of BAND OF TWO, Garry and I would like to raise a glass to you all.
Cheers
PETE FYFE <Petefyfe@aol.com>

Boy Seamen learning the mysteries of the focsle
Clive, There is a photograph of Boy Seamen learning the mysteries of the focsle sent in by John Douglas.
The faces look familiar to me and I wonder if it is Benbow 34 mess 1938/39.
I have emailed John Douglas but the mail administrator says my email cannot be delivered.
So I am sending it for the notice board.
